Are you under the age of 25? Then unfortunately you are really going to struggle to get a hired vehicle and this is because of the insurance companies that insure the car supplier fleets. Most car rental companies can’t allow you to hire a car because the premiums just aren’t worth paying, which is a shame as young drivers do need cars too…

There are a few companies however that will allow you to hire at a young driver age but as part of this in order to cover the premiums they charge up to £39/per day in Torquay, the deals we have arranged though means that we can now hire young people and save them money…

Our Offers

1.-If you are 21 or 22 years old and have had your full drivers licence for that least 1 year, we have supplier who offer young driver car hire. However, this offer does include a young drivers surcharge which we do keep to a minimum.

2.-Are you aged 23 or 24 years old? If you are and you have held your licence for at least 12 months, we have supplier who can provide young driver car hire. The difference with this offer is that the young driver daily additional fee is significantly cheaper than if you were 21 or 22 years old.

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
