Are you under the age of 25? Then it can be a bit of a worry as car hire can seem like an impossible task to get your hands on as majority of companies don’t allow you to do so as it can be expensive for them to get the insurance to be able to, and if they manage it then it can be expensive for you as there is young driver additional daily charges. We looked at this and decided that something needed to be done in order to save our customers money and get our younger drivers behind the wheel.

We got on the phone to all the suppliers in the Salford are and tried to get something arranged for you, eventually we managed to arrange two fantastic deals that even we didn’t think was possible. These deals are however for different age ranges, which you can find below…

Under 23?

If you are under 23 then usually you wouldn’t stand a chance of getting a hired car, however thanks to our new deal we can now hire to 21 year olds given that they have held their licence for a year prior to hiring with us. You will however be subject to a young driver additional fee but not only will we aim to get this as low as possible for you we will always try and keep the full overall price of the rental as low as we possible can including all the extras etc.

23 Or Over?

Are you 23 or 24? Then you’re in luck because the deal we have is excellent. Given that you have held your licence for a year prior to hiring you can get your hands on a car as a young driver by paying just a small extra fee. That’s right Low Young Driver Additional Fee! This will save you a lot of money.

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
