Young Driver Car Hire In London

In London and in fact the whole of the Uk, car hire is only available to those aged 21 and above. Some companies have a strict over 25 policy but we work with a number of suppliers who offer rental cars from 21 and over.

We have several locations in and around London so if you are in London and need to hire a car than we will have somewhere nearby. A list of popular locations is below, this is not an exhaustive list and if you need somewhere a bit closer to home, please contact us and we will happily do what we can to meet your needs.

What Are The Restrictions

If you are aged 21 or 22 then you can hire a car from many locations in or around London however you must have held your licence for at least 12 months and depending on supplier or the location you may need to pay a young drivers surcharge, this is typically a daily fee of between £10-£20.

We can offer car hire to young drivers between the ages of 23 and 24 with absolutely no additional daily fee! Again, the driver must have held their licence for at least 12 months.

If you are a young driver and want to hire a car then you Must Call our reservation agents as if you book online we cannot ensure that you will get the supplier that will hire to your age, we need to make sure everything is tailored to you.

Amazing support

I had been struggling to understand the whole car hire process. Been trying for 2 weeks to figure it out. Came across indigo and got speaking with connor. Within 10 mins we were booked and excited for our trip that had become a pain. Connor explained everything in a helpful and payient manor. I cant thank him enough. Amazing customer service. Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
