Car Rental For Young Drivers In Glasgow

Are you under 25? Hiring a car in Glasgow if you are under 25 can sometimes seem like an impossible task and unfortunately this is the same on a worldwide scale. Even if you managed to get a car as a young driver the charges per day are extremely high, here at Indigo Car Hire however we didn’t feel this was right as young drivers may need car hire just as much as those who are over 25, therefore we decided we had to do something about it.

We contacted all the companies in the Glasgow area in order to try and organise some form of a deal as we saw this as one of our main location goals with it being such a large city. Eventually we managed to negotiate an offer with a car rental supplier and in fact it came out better than we originally intended with us making two deals, these where for different age restrictions which you can see below…

Under 23?

If you are under the age of 23 then usually it would be a real struggle to get a car, however we have managed to lower the minimum age right down to 21 given that you have held your licence for a year prior to hiring. For those who are 21 and 22 you will be subject to a young driver additional fee however we will try and keep the total cost of the rental to an absolute minimum with the young driver fee included in that.

23 Or Over?

Are you 23 or 24? Then we have managed to arrange an amazing deal for you, just like if you are 21 or 22 you have to have been driving for a year prior. The deal we have arranged means you will have to pay only a small young driver additional fee. Yes that’s absolutely right Small Young Driver Additional Fee! This will save you a ton of money as often the young driver fee exceeds the cost of the rental.

Personal service is tops. I have always been with Indigo and have never used any other consolidating agency. Their business model allows them to undercut the individual hire rates offered directly to clients, and their rates are the best you'll find.

Both customer service reps I spoke with at Indigo were very friendly and helpful. The car hire at airport was very straight forward and the car assigned to us was better than expected. All in all, great service

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
