Car Rental For Young Drivers In Windermere

Car hire for younger drivers under 25 has until now been almost impossible as the majority of rental companies will not allow you to hire a car due to insurance restrictions that they have in place. This became an issue for us as we were getting a fair amount of requests for Windermere and surrounding areas for young drivers, so we decided we had to do something about it in order to get our young drivers behind the wheel of a rental vehicle.

We picked up the phone, did a little research and got the numbers of all the local car hire companies. We then contacted them attempting to arrange this deal and quickly became successful, so successful that we in fact managed to create two deals which we considered to be great. These deals are for two different age ranges which you can find below…

Under 23?

We now have 2 suppliers in Windermere that will allow drivers of the age of 21 and above to hire car, the rules are slightly different though;

A 21-22 year old can hire a car providing they have held their full licence for at least 12 months, this unfortunately comes with a daily surcharge which we will try and keep to an absolute minimum cost, we will work out all the extras and everything included and find you the best overall price.

A 21-22 year old who has held their licence for 24 months or longer can hire a vehicle with no daily surcharge, this is very rare in the car hire industry so if you are under 25 and are looking to hire a car then contact us.

23 Or Over?

We have possible arranged our best deal yet for this, we have managed to completely eliminate young driver additional fees for 23 and 24 year olds which means a massive saving! That’s right no young driver surcharge which we are extremely happy about. This will undoubtedly get you the best young driver price there is available.

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
