Are you under the age of 25? Then the unfortunate reality is that young drivers often can’t get a car from rental companies as their insurers would charge them a massive premium in order to be able to accept it. We thought it was slightly unfair that young drivers who could potentially have more driving experience than those over 25 where unable to get a car so we decided that something needed to be done about it and we looked to arrange offers to try lower the age.

Under 23?

If you are under 23 then don’t worry we can now help you! Our minimum age that we can accept customers is now down to 21 so if you are 21 or over you can hire, however you have to have one year driving experience. When you are under 23 you will be subject to an additional daily surcharge however we will keep it to an absolute minimum for you as we will always try and find you the best overall lowest price available at the time you want to hire.

23 Or Over?

We have a better offer for if you are 23 or 24, much like if you are younger you only have to have 1 year driving experience however the offer we can supply means that there is no young driver additional fee whatsoever! That’s right No Young Driver Surcharge! This offer will save you a ton of money as often the surcharge exceeds the cost of the rental.

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
