Car Rental For Young Drivers In Carlisle

Are you under the age of 25? Then the reality is that you are going to struggle to hire a car as majority of rental companies don’t allow younger drivers to hire due to insurance restrictions. This can be extremely inconvenient as young drivers may need a vehicle just as much as those over 25 and if they have the same driving experience there should be no reason that they can’t hire. This was our opinion on the matter and therefore we looked at trying to arrange a deal for our younger customers so that they can get a rental vehicle.

We got on the phone to the local suppliers in Carlisle and managed to come up with a deal pretty rapidly, in fact we managed to come up with two main fantastic offers that we are really proud of. These two offers apply for different age ranges, these are…

Our Offers

Under 23?
We now have 2 suppliers in Carlisle that will allow drivers of the age of 21 and above to hire car, the rules are slightly different though;

A 21-22 year old can hire a car providing they have held their full licence for at least 12 months, this unfortunately comes with a daily surcharge which we will try and keep to an absolute minimum cost, we will work out all the extras and everything included and find you the best overall price.

23 Or Over?
If you are 23 or 24 we believe we have organised an absolutely fantastic deal for you, it’s the same for if you are under 23 in regards to driving experience you only need one year. That’s not the best part of the deal however, we have managed in Carlisle to arrange an offer that means our 23 and 24 year old young drivers pay only a small young driver surcharge! That’s right just a small extra fee if you’re 23 or 23+

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
